Marissa Kaplan is vice president of client relations at Innovative Rx Strategies and is responsible for the managing the day-to-day relationship between clients of Innovative Rx Strategies and the client’s pharmacy benefit manager (PBM). Marissa possesses first-hand knowledge of the PBM industry, claims adjudication processes, disease management programs, plan participant communications, client implementation and has extensive request for proposal (RFP) development and account management expertise.
Marissa brings nine years of overall PBM experience to Innovative Rx Strategies. Prior to joining Innovative Rx Strategies in early 2014, Marissa was a dedicated account manager to a Fortune 50 Employer client of CVS Caremark where she: a) managed the day-to-day interactions with the client along with matching client priorities with CVS Caremark capabilities; b) analyzed and evaluated any special benefit design changes required by client; c) monitored account activity and reported member drug utilization trends/usage; and d) worked cross-collaboratively with teams throughout CVS Caremark to resolve client issues and perform any necessary follow-up activity to ensure complete client satisfaction.
In addition to her years as a dedicated account manager, Marissa brings more than five years of end-to-end RFP project management experience, including RFP analysis, proposal process enhancement and extensive content database development/maintenance. Marissa performed RFP content reviews, ensuring correct, thorough responses to all RFP questionnaires. She also partnered with sales colleagues at CVS Caremark to understand the strategic needs of key accounts, prospective clients and members.
Marissa brings consulting knowledge to Innovative Rx Strategies with her experience working hand-in-hand with competitive intelligence teams at CVS Caremark to target and review competitive RFP submissions and apply those findings to help improve CVS Caremark’s RFP responses in terms of general product positioning and differentiation. Marissa was a Certified Mentor and Trainer at CVS Caremark on the RxClaim platform and is a subject matter expert when it comes to understanding how PBM claims processing systems work.
Marissa has her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Studies from University of Illinois at Chicago.
