C. Connor Boone

As director of Health Analytics, Connor develops technology platforms and executes healthcare strategy to maximize affordability in pharmacy. Working amongst internal stakeholders, health plans, third party administrators, and other types of pharmacy payers, he advises on the thoughtful implementation of new and ongoing pharmacy management services based on healthcare data. He uses programming and information reference tools to analyze medical and pharmacy claims data, evaluate carrier service offerings, create data visualizations, and benchmark performance to quantify costs and identify trends in healthcare. Connor also represents Innovative Rx Strategies in Apex Benefits’ DEI Committee to promote his interests towards representation, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Connor started his health and benefits career at Health Strategy, a pharmacy benefits consulting firm based out of Chicago, Illinois, where he consulted on pharmacy benefit proposals, contract management, direct purchasing agreements, and executed performance-based data analytics using pharmacy claims data. Resulting from his consulting tenure, he exhibits valuable strategic benefit advising experience.

After his time at Health Strategy, Connor joined the Group Purchasing Organization at the BlueCross BlueShield Association, which works collectively on behalf of other BlueCross and BlueShield companies across the globe. While at BCBSA, he optimized operations of medical specialty pharmacy affordability programs to lower costs and incentivize access, led a small team on special technical projects, and managed the development of a cellular/gene therapy rebate program.

Connor graduated from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio and makes several trips back each year to the area to visit friends and family. From time to time, Connor enjoys volunteering with the Spanish-speaking community by offering translation and interpreting services to non-profit organizations, such as the National Immigrant Justice Center, that provide legal aid to those pursuing permanent legal status in the United States.
